Napa County Health and Human Services Agency: CSOA: In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS)

Assists eligible low income aged, blind, and disabled persons, who are at risk for out-of-home placement, to remain safely at home by authorizing payment for care provider services. IHSS care providers may provide personal care services such as: bathing and grooming, dressing, and toileting, as well as domestic services such as: house cleaning, meal preparation/cleanup, shopping, and laundry.

Our free services are in-place to support aging-in-place and living independently for older adults and those who are disabled. The hours of operation are Monday – Friday from 10 am – 3 pm.

Offering a donation center with durable medical equipment, home health supplies, tube-feeding supplies, liquid nutrients, and nutritional supplement drinks; for anyone to donate or receive items in need.

  • Fall prevention with home safety assessments, assistive device and home modification recommendations, and possible installations for those who qualify. 
  • Hands-on guidance and education for individuals and caregivers on using equipment and preparing the home for safety with emphasis on preventing falls and preparing your home during a transition.
  • Free fall prevention presentations and awareness as requested. A licensed location for A Matter of Balance evidence-based program.
  • Helping individuals living in severely cluttered or hazardous conditions, often facing eviction, providing intensive support to restore safe living environments and secure your existing housing.
